"The contrasting images of Clementine oranges and biscotti compliment each other here. The fresh acidity of lemon curd combines well with the richness of dulce de leche and the elegance of Bosc pears. The wine’s finesse is apparent as ripe cantaloupe aromatics subside to reveal those of toasted hazelnut." – Erin Green, Winemaker November 2011

Aromas of sliced cooked apple, pineapple and praline. Full-bodied with salted caramel. Oily and very rich at the finish. Hints of lime and peach. Wonderful length. 1,600 cases made. Drinkable now, but better in a year or two.

Almost entirely Old WenAlmost entirely Old Wente clone (or, more properly, selection), Pahlmeyer's 2020 Chardonnay continues to be among Napa's most noteworthy efforts with the variety. All barrel fermented in all new oak from François Frères, there are overtones of smoke, mocha and popcorn, notes of honey and toast but also a deep core of pear and melon notes. Full-bodied and generous on the palate, it's also long and citrusy, with classy notes of pencil shavings on the lingering finish. te clone (or, more properly, selection), Pahlmeyer's 2020 Chardonnay continues to be among Napa's most noteworthy efforts with the variety. Packs an exotic note of litsea oil and a hint of flint, which becomes a smoky grace note for the core of ripe pear, lemon sherbet, makrut lime leaf, sweet grass, salted caramel and toffee. Reveals honeysuckle elements that linger on the long, expressive finish, with a fresh thread of acidity. Drink now through 2028. 2,868 cases made.
