ORGANIC and BIODYNAMIC
Six parcels location around the village of Comblanchien. Intended to show the beauty and complexity that comes with blending grapes from different soils, expositions, root stock and vine age (but averaging 60-70 years).
Multiple parcels, exposure varies
Clay-limestone soils of Comblanchien
Organically farmed, incorporating some biodynamic principles and minimal plowing so as to not disturb the soils. Strict debudding to limit yields and encourage good concentration. All grapes are picked and sorted by hand at harvest
Harvested at optimum ripeness (always determined by consistent tasting in the vineyards), Whole cluster semi-carbonic maceration in stainless steel tank; indigenous yeast fermention. No sulfur added in vinification
One year of ageing in barrel, 10% of which is new. Touch of sulfur added at bottling.
Emphase represents the beauty and complexity that come from blending fruit from meticulously farmed parcels with different soils, expositions, root stock and vine age (but averaging 60-70 years). A true "village" and an exciting new discovery in the Lienhardt lineup.
