(all clone 8 cabernet sauvignon on a low-vigor, well-drained site, replanted in 2001): Good ruby-red. Deep aromas of blackberry, blueberry, iron-like minerality and tropical dark chocolate. There's a Pauillac-like quality to the sweet, vibrant cassis and mineral flavors, and excellent volume for the year. The serious tannins spread out to saturate the palate on the back end.

David Arthur's flagship wine, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Elevation 1147 is the best wine of this group. Rich, deep, creme de cassis, licorice, forest floor and a hint of subtle smoke are present in this medium-bodied effort. With outstanding concentration and purity as well as low acidity and ripe tannins, it should drink well for 7-10 years.

Delivers moderately ripe plum, raspberry and blackberry fruit shaded by dusty cedar notes. The red fruit flavors are joined by a dash of licorice, tailing off on the finish. Drink now through 2022.
