Willamette Valley, Oregon- For nearly four decades Ponzi Pinot Noir has been critically acclaimed for its sensual aromas, elegant intensity and depth, layered black fruit flavors, hints of spice and its ripe, silky texture. This benchmark Oregon Pinot finishes with a velvety aftertaste.

Attractive ripe and pure red cherry fruit that is nicely framed in spice, conifer-forest and sweet-earth elements. The palate has a bold heart of concentrated red-cherry flavor and delivers a bold, youthful and succulent finish. Impressive. Drink or hold.

Coming from deeper basalt soils, brilliant aromas emerge from the 2019 Pinot Noir Reserve, which offers up notes of red cherry liqueur, crushed roses, and well-balanced oak spices. Medium to full-bodied, it captures wonderful freshness, with ripe tannins, a focused, more linear mouthfeel, and a spicy, fresh finish. It's a touch more austere compared to the other Pinots from Ponzi, but I enjoy its more angular feel already. It's an age-worthy wine that needs time to open up over the coming 10 years.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Reserve Laurelwood District comes from own-rooted old vines planted in the 1970s and 1980s. It has savory aromas of cranberry jelly, licorice, burnt orange peel, forest floor, tea leaves and conifer. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with juicy fruit supported by finely grained tannins, and it has a long, spicy finish.

A refined, almost delicate sensibility is at work here. This is the most Burgundian of the high-end Ponzi Pinots, young and fresh and racy and tight. The bright raspberry and cherry fruit is compact and set up with balanced acidity and proportionate, ripened tannins. Notes of herb and citrus are in the background, as is the impact of aging in 30% new French oak. Drink 2024–2030. (Cellar Selection)

Expressive and elegantly layered, with vibrant cherry and raspberry flavors that are laced with Asian tea and spice notes. Drink now through 2028. 2,209 cases made.
