Beyra Grande Reserva Red 2018
- wa92
750ml
$49.99
Very intense aroma, almost explosive, wild fruits and spices with notes of licorice in perfect balance with discreet hints of vanilla and toasted oak barrel. Sweet attack on the mouth, with great volume, we feel the vibrant notes of fruit and spices that we feel in the nose, with very voluminous and smooth tannins, with long and persistent finish. Ready to drink.

The 2018 Beyra Grande Reserva is mostly a Tinta Roriz, with 10% each of Jaen and Touriga Nacional, all aged for 12 months in new French oak. It comes in at 14.4% alcohol. Solid in the mid-palate, this shows off some oaky nuances, but the mid-palate seems able to absorb them well. It adds fine structure with firmness on the finish. It is, in fact, a bit tight. It adds some complexity around the edges, too, a touch of beef. It grips the palate nicely, and the fruit coats it. This is very well done and well priced. You can drink this now because the tannins are not hard, but it will certainly be better in a couple of years.
