One of the most sought-after values in Bordeaux, Chapelle d'Alienor is produced by famed Chateau la Gaffeliere! About a 15 minute drive from the vineyards that make their $100 wine, Alienor and Alexandre de Malet Roquefort found this property in Mouliets-et-Villemartin back in 2001. After 17 vintages, the 2018 is hitting the perfect notes of black fruits and structure that is well integrated into the rich wood and acidity. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. the 2018 Merlot-based wines of the right bank are superb!

Coming from the team at Château La Gaffelière, the 2018 Chapelle D'Alienor By La Gaffelière is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced from the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. Black raspberries, cherries, tobacco, and vanilla notes all emerge from the glass, and this plump, fruit-forward, fruit bomb styled red offers a lot of pleasure, yet it's geared for near-term drinking.

Ripe black fruits and a full-bodied texture give this ready-to-drink wine immediacy. Lightly spiced, balancing blackberry fruits and acidity, the wine is delicious now.

The 2018 Chapelle d'Aliénor, a Bordeaux Supérieur from La Gaffelière, has a ripe and candied bouquet with vanillary red and blue fruit, a touch of patisserie in the background. The palate is very sweet and slightly confectionary on the entry, plush in texture with what feels like a bit of residual sugar on the finish. Easy-drinking and possibly a little cloying in quantity?
