The Castello di Querceto 2013 La Corte (100% Sangiovese) is a super dark and extracted wine. Again, the wine seems to defy the physical limitations of the moderately pigmented Sangiovese grape. An inky black appearance is followed by thick aromas of blackberry preserves and candied cherry. The finish is not very long in persistence, but it is overtly powerful in terms of intensity.

This Sangiovese opens with aromas of mocha, tilled soil and a whiff of dark fruit. The chewy palate offers espresso, black plum and vanilla alongside assertive tannins.
