Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Lamaione 2015
|Marchesi de' Frescobaldi
A powerful expression of Merlot from the heavy clay and arid vineyard, Lamaione. Produced since 1991 on the estate of Castelgiocondo in Montalcino.
Perfumed and fresh aromas of violets, dark berries and hazelnuts follow through to a full-bodied, rich palate with dusty and polished tannins and a flavorful finish. Hints of toasted oak at the end. Needs three to four years to come together..June/2019
Pure cherry and blueberry fruit is framed by toasty oak in this sleek red. Grace notes of cedar, olive and wild herbs add depth and complexity. The firm, lively finish has grip and length. Best from 2021 through 2030.
This Merlot has aromas of violet, bay leaf and cedar. The concentrated palate offers blackberry jam, roasted coffee bean and toasted oak alongside assertive, close-grained tannins.
