Antonio Galloni’s tasting notes had us drooling in anticipation of this Merlot-based blend’s “soft curves and voluptuous fruit.” It does not disappoint! Notes of dark cherry, boysenberry and cocoa meet hints of violet and baking spice in a mid-weight wine of immediate approachability. Sweet red cherry on the finish will have you smacking your lips for more.

Based largely on Merlot, the 2016 Barrel Select is a medium-bodied, charming effort that has earthy dark fruits and herbal aromas, solid fruit on the palate, and a clean finish. It's an enjoyable, delicious effort to enjoy over the coming 3-5 years.

The 2016 Proprietary Red Barrel Select is a blend of 70% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 10% Petit Verdot. It has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and is scented of red and black plums, dried mulberries and stewed cherries with touches of underbrush and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, the palate takes a slight dip in the middle, otherwise this is soft, juicy and uncomplicated.
