This is a very aromatic wine with an outstanding complex bouquet of sweet baking spices, poached pear, saffron, hazelnut, Chantilly cream, slightly toasted brioche, Meyer lemon, and stone fruits. On the palate, it is bright and youthful, with a juicy natural acidity and a fine mineral structure. This should develop beautifully over the next decade.
The 2017 Chardonnay Sigrid has a pretty perfume of baked quince, ripe peaches, jasmine, oyster shell, dried hay and saline with notes of honey and hazelnuts. The light to medium-bodied palate is rounded and blossoms slowly from mineral to honeyed fruits, finishing long, fresh and nuanced. This merits another year in bottle.
This barrel-fermented, reserve-barrel selection is annually among Oregon's finest Chardonnays. Richly endowed with ripe fruit, it marries apples and tree fruits to flavors of lightly salted butter, toasted nuts and wet stone.
Graceful yet steely, with expressive apple, quince and stony mineral flavors that glide along the sleekly elegant finish. Drink now through 2021. 900 cases made.
