"The Bootleg Prequel Red Blend displays a deep, opaque purple color and exudes aromas of lavender, blueberry, bacon and wood-smoke. Its texture is round, full bodied, opening to flavors of forest fruits, black pepper and toasted oak. A substantial, supple wine that's superb on its own, but will elevate sautéed mushrooms and lamb sausages to next level status."
This is a luscious wine with supple tannins and a velvety, lingering finish. Aromas of lavender, blueberry and bacon smoke are followed by flavors of forest fruits, toasted oak and black pepper.

The 2015 Prequel Red Blend is made of 85% Syrah and 15% Petite Sirah aged 21 months in 37% new French oak and 1% new American oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it delivers vibrant black cherries, black raspberries and wild blueberries with touches of licorice, grilled meats, Provence herbs and Sichuan pepper. "The 2017 Bootleg Red Wine checks in as 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot that’s mostly from Howell Mountain, yet includes fruit from Spring Mountain, Knights Valley, and Diamond Mountain. Plenty of crème de cassis, tobacco leaf, cedary herbs, and a touch of chocolate all emerge from the glass of this plump, rounded, undeniably delicious 2017 that does everything right. Enjoy it over the coming 4–6 years.

This blend is thick in black fruit, tobacco and leather, with a mighty presence of power and concentration. Baking spice, toasted oak and sturdy dusty tannins wrap around a core of rounded richness that will broadly appeal. Made from 85% Syrah with 15% Petite Sirah.
