Tormaresca Bocca di Lupo 2013
|Region||Italy, Puglia, Castel del Monte|
The grippy tannins are well-knit, with an expressive range of crushed black cherry, bay leaf, finely ground pepper and citrus peel flavors in this fresh, medium- to full-bodied red, which shows good tension through to the mineral-laced finish. Harmonious. Drink now through 2028. 260 cases imported.
Tight at first, this wine opens to aromas of ripe red berries, tar and coconut shavings. The palate is rich in feel with dark cocoa bitterness, yet juicy acidity builds on the midpalate to reveal fresh berry tones. This needs time in the cellar to fully integrate. Drink from 2022.
