Sloan Proprietary Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Layered with remarkable complexity and intensity of flavors and aromas, Sloan exhibits a gorgeous tension between elements of grace and power, balance and opulence, as well as age and vibrancy. It is a precise wine with defined structure and immense aging potential and at the same time, a seductive wine of exceptional fruit finesse, minerality, and multilayered mouthfeel. Crafted with meticulous care from vine to bottle and exacting standards for achieving the highest quality, this uninhibitedly rich and extraordinarily pure wine is a beautiful, raw expression of our terroir - a reflection of our soils, climate, and its place of origin.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Proprietary Red is a little closed and broody at this youthful stage, the nose beginning to open and grow into a beautiful redcurrant jelly, cassis, kirsch and black raspberry core with nuances of red roses, mocha, unsmoked cigars, camphor and tilled soil. Full-bodied and fabulously decadent in the mouth, the palate reveals a very firm, very plush frame with loads of perfumed layers and an epically long, fragrant finish.

The 2015 Proprietary Red is made in a more opulent, sexy style and boasts a huge array of blackcurrants, Christmas fruitcake, chocolate, and Asian spices. Reminding me of the 2015 Mouton-Rothschild with its exuberant, full-bodied, extroverted personality, it still stays perfectly balanced, has sweet, polished tannins, ample mid-palate depth, and a finish that won’t quit. This is a brilliant, singular wine that can be enjoyed today with incredible pleasure or cellared for 30 years or more.

he 2015 Sloan is a powerful, dramatic wine endowed with tremendous textural depth. A rush of blackberry jam, grilled herbs, leather and licorice builds as this flamboyant wine shows off its alluring personality. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2015 possesses a good deal of freshness and structure. It is a tremendous wine by any measure.

A beautifully crafted red with currant, chocolate, cedar and tea aromas and flavors that follow through to a medium to full body, round and refined tannins and a persistent and beautiful finish. Give this until 2021 to come around.
