A rich and compelling nose of blackberry, cassis, smoky leather and dried herbs is enhanced with layers of plum and cherry, cocoa and sandalwood. Notes of pencil lead and crushed rock mingle with subtle nuances of sage and menthol. Bold and full bodied, this wine is structured firmly around a solid core of boysenberry and cherry fruit.
Supple, ripe tannins provide ample backbone for the layers of boysenberry, black cherry, licorice and dried herb flavors. Fleshy and weighty on the palate while retaining balance and finesse, it finishes long and clean with lingering notes of plum and blackberry. |

It is made with the same plants as the Chartreuse Verte, but in different proportions, it offers scents of flowers, honey and spices. Only two Chartreux Brothers know the names of the plants and know how to mix and distill them. They are also the only ones who know which plants to use to give natural green and yellow colors. It is they who control the slow aging of the liquor and decide when the liquor is ready to be bottled. |

Authentic liquor of exceptional power - thanks to the 130 plants that compose it. It is the only world-famous GREEN liqueur entirely made from natural elements, and to age in oak casks and in bottles. She is powerful and different. To bring out the aromas, Chartreuse is consumed with ice cubes. Traditionally, it is considered a digestif, but more and more connoisseurs are also tasting it in cocktails. |

The 2019 Leviathan boasts an intense mix of fresh boysenberry, black cherry, and plum with cocoa powder, allspice, and nutmeg. Its earthy elements of our rocky California hillsides include bay Laurel, sage, cedar, and dry red earth which speaks to its origins. Supple and balanced tannins of this rich wine lead to a long savory finish with hints of graphite and star anise. It is approachable now and built to cellar.

"Maison Leroy was founded in 1868 by François Leroy and has been under the care of his great-granddaughter the iconic Lalou Bize-Leroy since 1955. Her knowledge and understanding of Burgundy terroir is second to none, as is her tenacious approach to winemaking. When it comes to the pursuit of quality, she permits no compromise. The grapes are hand-harvested and -sorted and are fermented as slowly as possible. Her wines are a definitive declaration of Burgundy." -Winery notes

No name enlivens and ignites a discussion of Burgundy as quickly as Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy. She is unrelenting in every way, from her personality to how she runs her business to the quality of the wine in the bottle. The Leroy family’s 50% ownership of Domaine Romanée-Conti gave Lalou ample ability to amass the deepest and most revered cellar in Burgundy during the past six decades. Speculation is rampant about its size and holdings; only one person knows for sure. Today, Lalou is the force behind three domaines: Maison Leroy, Domaine Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay. Domaine Leroy was established in 1988 with the purchase of domaines Charles Noëllat in Vosne-Romanée and Philippe Remy in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, Lalou has some 54 acres of vines, mostly 1er and Grand Cru. Everything here is done by hand, and Lalou trains and manicures the vines into the most visually beautiful vineyards in the region. She practices biodynamic farming, as well as severe pruning and crop-thinning to maintain maximum equilibrium of the grapes. The result is incredibly low yields of extremely concentrated yet refined wines with a rare purity of fruit — some of the most highly prized wines in Burgundy today.
