Chateau Palmer Margaux 1982

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

The wine is adorned with a deep ruby color and a splash of garnet. The rich bouquet opens with notes of crushed black fruits, prunes, cinnamon, vanilla, gingerbread, bright tobacco, smoke and bay leaves. There is a beautiful blend of fruit and an expression of rare and noble tannins. The wine is fleshy, smooth and fresh, especially in its long and flavorful finish. Terroir and the Palmer style shine through. An accomplished wine, harmonious, it will keep well into the 20s (2020...).

International Wine CellarFull, deep red. Spicy aromas of cassis and rose petal, with a whiff of meat. Then wonderfully penetrating and classy, with bright acidity giving the wine superb clarity and thrust. This has terrific structure. Finishes very long and fine, with excellent grip. By far the finest bottle I've tasted to date of this wine, and one of the real surprises of the tasting. Drink now through 2015.

Wine SpectatorA well-crafted red with beautiful structure. Dark ruby-garnet in color, with a lot of violet and earth aromas. Full-bodied, with loads of silky tannins and a long, sweet fruit finish. Has always been outstanding.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Drink now.

Wine AdvocateMedium+ garnet-brick colour. Mainly dusty / musty, leathery aromas with some appealing notes of dried cranberries, dried Mediterranean herbs, cloves and pot pourri. The medium to full bodied palate gives medium to high acidity and medium to firm tannins with a good amount of evolved fruit and spice flavours. Long finish. Wine Advocate # 183 Jun 2009
