The 2019 Malbec Gran Reserva, Uco Valley, was aged for 12 months in a quarter new barrels. Purple in color. The nose displays fresh plum, blackberry, mint and hints of violet. It's intense, creamy and vigorous in the mouth with a juicy profile, good body and a degree of extract. A well-judged wine.

The 2019 Gran Reserva Malbec does mention Los Chacayes on the label as well as other mentions like La Esperanza Estate, the name of their property, and Mountain Character, because the vineyards are close to the mountains. It's a serious, ripe (14.9% alcohol) and generously oaked (12 to 14 months in barrel, 25% of them new) Malbec that is quite predictable but nicely done. It's balanced and clean in a commercial and approachable way. It has some tannins that are going to need some more time and/or powerful food. 43,000 bottles produced.
