The wonderful ripening conditions in 2019 produced very aromatic grapes. The style of a great year is well and truly there, the attack is powerful, very round with a dense mid-palate and a fine smooth finish. The acidity brings freshness, revealing all the finesse and elegance of this wine.

Amazingly refreshing! Like a lemonade or Gatorade that is super jacked up with minerals and limestone.

Barrel Sample. A tight and mineral driven wine, this is cool and crisp in feel. Its green fruits, herbal edge and mineral texture are all meld with the grapefruit-laden acidity and structured finish. It's a fine wine that will need plenty of time.

A dense, tight red with creamy texture and dried-pear and apple character. It’s full-bodied, focused and intense. Serious effort. One of the best whites from here.

A great Carbonnieux, with careful balance of juicy, salt-edged minerality and creamy nectarine and apricot fruits. Always a real highlight of the whites of the appellation and delivering another hit in 2019. Tasted twice two weeks apart. A yield of 40hl/ha.

Plenty of honeyed peach and nectarine notes emerge from the 2019 Château Carbonnieux Blanc. This nicely textured, medium-bodied white has good concentration, well-integrated acidity, and a clean, balanced style that's going to drink nicely out of the gate.

The 2019 Carbonnieux Blanc is distinctive and classy. Crushed rocks, lemon peel, flowers and white pepper all give the 2019 a good deal of aromatic lift. A touch of reduction adds character while allowing the wine's natural depth and structure to come through nicely. Hints of slate, pear and mint linger nicely.

Composed of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon, the 2019 Blanc was harvested from the 29th of August to the 18th of September. Yields were 42 hectoliters per hectare this year. The alcohol came in at 13% with a pH of 3.1. It is aging in French oak barrels, 25% new, with lees stirring for an anticipated 10 months. The nose displays delicate scents of pear tart, fresh yellow apples and honey-drizzled peaches with hints of lemongrass and dill seed. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly played with invigorating freshness supporting the stone fruit and citrus flavors, finishing zesty.
