The 2019 Paderewski Vineyard is incredibly complex, with loads of red and blue fruits as well as black licorice, orange blossom, and flowers. This beauty is full-bodied, has a layered, seamless mouthfeel, no hard edges, and as I wrote in notes after tasting this, it’s a killer wine.

Saturated magenta. Highly perfumed, spice-accented red and blue fruits, botanical herbs, incense, potpourri and a hint of smokiness on the nose. Displays vibrant, spice-tinged blueberry, cherry cola, cassis and exotic spice flavors and seamless texture. Turns firmer and echoes the spice and floral notes on the strikingly persistent finish, which features harmonious tannins and lingering blue fruit character.

The 2019 Paderewski Vineyard is a bright, perfumed blend of co-fermented fruit: 53% Syrah, 18% Mataro, 11% Zinfandel, 8% Graciano, 7% Tempranillo and 3% Viognier. Medium ruby, the nose is bursting with wild berries, blood orange and floral aromas. The medium-bodied, finely textured palate is notably restrained, fresh and minerally, a departure from the bolder styles of warmer vintages in the last decade, and it finishes long and uplifted. Drink it on the earlier side for its fragrant, pretty fruits.
