A 4-star vintage that experienced extraordinary excellence in the grapes harvested. The climate was mild, with a very hot summer, but with rains that helped the grapes to reach the right degree of ripeness. Excellent if tasted with red meats, game, aged cheeses.

The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino lifts up with an aromatic bouquet of crushed cherries giving way to a cedar spice box full of dried flowers and cloves. This is fruit-centric, soft textured, a bit one-dimensional, yet energetic and spry. It finishes with hints of licorice and red plum, leaving only a subtle coating of tannin to linger.
