“Sed Contra Audentior Ito” - Always Push Harder - was the latter part of the family motto of Stags’ Leap Winery founder Horace Chase. Audentia Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is our tribute to this sentiment, crafted from an inimitable blend of estate vines that each year push to yield their most concentrated, yet nuanced and elegant fruit.

This wine is ready to go! Its hitting on all fronts, nose is a rose, coco and mint mix and on the pallet you get so much fresh but subtle fruit you just want another sip. - Kevin

This is like looking down a dark well. It takes you down with fantastically vertical tannins. Superb fruit and balance. Currants, dark berries and hints of chocolate and hazelnuts. Full and classic in nature. Better in 2022, but already so beautiful. Drink in 2022.

A blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petite Sirah and 9% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Audentia Estate rolls effortlessly out of the glass with notions of Black Forest cake, plum preserves and warm cassis plus suggestions of cigar box, Indian spices, menthol and fertile loam. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a finely knit frame of impeccably ripe tannins and seamless freshness supporting the intense black fruits, finishing long and spicy. 801 cases were made.

Ripe and juicy, with lots of balled-up plum and blackberry fruit at the core that should start unfurling soon enough. Light alder, licorice root and warm earth hints hang in the background for support. Just slightly firm through the finish, but still solidly rendered. Best from 2022 through 2032.
