The 2019 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riparosso takes its time to fully blossom in the glass, as stone dust and earthy minerals give way to hints of wild strawberry and incense. It's silky in texture, ushering in a polished display of red fruits and minerals; yet it's also a bit monolithic in its youthful state. A tug of residual acids lingers, along with tart wild berries and hints of fine tannin, creating tension through the finale.

Bright aromas of ripe red cherry and blackberry blend with accents of cinnamon, clove and chopped herbs. It's supple in feel on the palate, driven by juicy berry flavors and supported by soft, rounded tannins. It's an enjoyable entry to the Montepulciano variety.
