A very well-made Amarone that shows good poise and dryness on the palate, with black chocolate, cigars, dark raspberry jam, wax and graphite. Lots of silky, melted tannins on the medium-to full-bodied palate, before an elegant and dry finish. Excellent length. Sustainable. Still needs some time for extra complexity to come through. Drink after 2023.

Elegant and balanced, medium-bodied and harmonious, this Amarone offers ripe black and red cherry fruit and a subtle minerally underpinning of smoke and loamy earth. Reveals hints of fig cake, ground anise and dried thyme, which add complexity and linger on the refined finish. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta. Drink now through 2034. 12,083 cases made, 4,117 cases imported.

The 2019 Valpolicella Classico Superiore is dusty and darkly floral, with hints of mocha giving way to dried cherries and blueberries. This is a juicy and lifted expression, full of energy and perfumed, with tart red berries that cascade across a core of salty minerality. It tapers of remarkably pretty and perfumed with violet flowers and a touch of autumnal spice.
