Straw yellow in color with slight golden highlights. On the nose it has great intensity and complexity. It is invitingly fragrant and fruit-driven with notes of alpine flowers and a pleasant hint of almond. In the mouth it is fresh and well balanced with a nice backbone and a long aromatic finish. Perfect as an aperitif. It complements hard cheeses, San Daniele Prosciutto, scampi, shrimps and raw fish dishes, first course pastas and risottos with vegetables, and chicken-based dishes.

Aromas of yellow stone fruit, spring wildflower and Alpine herb lead the nose. Elegant and linear, the vibrant, savory palate offers yellow peach, apricot and a hint of graphite alongside bright acidity. It closes on an almond note.

A value release of about 8,000 bottles, the Borgo Conventi 2018 Collio Friulano shows orchard fruit and nectarine, and there is a fun spot of green that recalls kiwi or honeydew melon. As the wine opens and warms in the glass, it puts on almond or candied orange aromas with maybe a touch of caramel. It shows a nice evolution in the glass with a slender, mid-weight texture, to enjoy with a bowl of orecchiette with broccoletti.

The 2018 Friulano is understated yet very pretty, showing notes of wet stone, white flowers and pear. Its silky textures are contrasted by a mix of brisk acids and salty minerals, and it's then balanced by ripe orchard fruits. There is a bit of a tropical air to the finish, as this buzzes with residual tension and leaves a completely refreshed impression.
