Livio Felluga Sauvignon 2020
|Region||Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Collio|
Hints of baked apricot and pineapple are layered with creamy lemon curd and pastry cream notes in this sleek, well-knit white, with minerally smoke and stone notes emerging to linger on the finish. Drink now through 2024. 2,700 cases made, 413 cases imported.
Faint aromas recalling pressed elderflower, citrus and tropical fruit form the subtle nose. The aromas carry over to the palate before closing on lemon drop candy and bitter almond notes. KERIN O'KEEFE
The 2018 Sauvignon is wickedly fresh and pungent with its spicy herbal tones, notes of sour melon, wet stone and lime. This is silky yet verging on fat in texture, with ripe orchard fruits and salty minerals, creating a contrasting mix of both savory and sweet. Hints of grapefruit and candied ginger linger long, as the 2018 slowly tapers off to a twang of sour citrus.
