Powell & Son Riesling 2018
|Region||Australia, South Australia, Eden Valley|
|Brand||Powell & Son|
This complex and heady Riesling from 90-year-old vines is a bargain. Pale gold in hue, the nose is an expressive perfume of beeswax, crushed stone, candied ginger, honey, tea tree oil and lime leaf. For all its richness on the nose, the palate is bone dry yet highly textural in a skinsy bite. Mouthwatering acidity, juicy fruit and a long finish make for an opulent yet poised Riesling that's drinking beautifully right now.
Glistening straw. A highly perfumed, mineral-driven nose evokes ripe citrus and pit fruits, honeysuckle, kerosene and ginger. Offers concentrated yet lively Meyer lemon, nectarine and pear flavors that pick up hints of tarragon and dried fig with air. Shows excellent clarity, spicy lift and repeating florality on a long, chewy finish that leaves a hint of bitter pear skin behind.
Extremely intense, this white comprises a vivid mix of lemon curd, lanolin, fresh lime juice and beeswax notes on a sleek and juicy frame. Savory details of saline and crushed rock line the finish. Drink now. 500 cases made, 100 cases imported.
