There's a tremendous display of rocky minerality on the nose of this bottling, which offers crushed granite, wet river stone and wet wool aromas, as well as a bright sense of lemon blossom. The chiseled stone character carries through the palate, where grippy tension frames lime pith and delicate honey flavors that emerge toward the finish.

The 2018 Chenin Blanc is another stellar wine in this range from Lieu Dit. Pliant and energetic, with terrific texture, the 2018 offers a compelling interplay of varietal notes and textural richness. The decision to vinify partly in steel and partly in oak yielded a wine with impeccable balance and harmony. This is the first vintage of the Lieu Dit Chenin to emerge entirely from vineyards Justin Willett planted at Happy Canyon Vineyard.
