In 1983, Tony and Herta (HB) Peju purchased thirty acres of vines in the famed Rutherford district of Napa Valley. They worked hard to build a winery, plant estate vineyards and raise their family. PEJU remains family-owned with Tony and HB’s two daughters Ariana and Lisa guiding the business today. Ariana and Lisa are bringing fresh ideas while maintaining the meticulous focus on quality that began over 35 years ago. With its landmark tower and warm hospitality, PEJU Winery is an integral part of the Napa Valley landscape.
This gorgeous wine greets the nose with fragrant aromas of dried Mission figs and hints of thyme. The flavors that follow include berry compote, red cherry, vanilla, light brown sugar and hints of cocoa. It’s a bright, juicy wine with many layers and so supple tannins that lead to an elegant finish.

Aromas of wet tobacco and mixed cherries carry into the palate. With further sipping they transform into spiced tobacco, cocoa and dark fruits carried by a full body and melting tannins.

Aged in 40% new oak-a mix of French and American-Peju's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Legacy Collection features cherries, dusty earth and modest dried spice notes on the nose. In the mouth, this medium to full-bodied wine boasts silky, fine-grained tannins up front, opening up to reveal some coarseness on the finish. Still, it's a solid effort from a challenging vintage and fairly priced for the pedigree.
