Monteverro Toscana 2014

The 2014 Monteverro is 40% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Most of the wine (80%) is aged in new French oak for 24 months. Grapes are harvested from clay soil sites and each parcel is vinified separately. This is a beautifully crafted and intense red wine that delivers power, complexity and elegant extraction. Dark fruit folds into spice, leather and tobacco. The palate is slightly thinner and more streamlined in this vintage.
Varietal aromas and flavors of black currant, cedar, olive and tobacco are shaded by vanilla and sweet oak notes. Balanced, and just needs a little time to absorb the oak. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2020 through 2029. 1,400 cases made, 28 cases imported.
