A beautiful nose redolent of fresh, ripe blackberry and black plum jam, gently framed by notes of dried thyme and toast. On the palate, the wine is full and juicy, brimming with more black fruit and touches of bittersweet chocolate, mint, and dried straw. Generous and harmonious, with velvety tannins and a long, smooth finish.

Comes in at a 92 on opening - after about 75 minutes it rocks a sold 94 + Gota give it the time for the mocha to show up and it to settle down. I would bet they have some To Kalon juice in here.

A complex nose of fresh berries, olives, herbs and spices. Balanced, velvety palate with nice harmony and elegant tannins. Long, savory finish. Delicious. Drink or hold.

The base 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is certainly impressive, and since there are roughly 90,000 cases, it’s an incredible achievement. Classic darker currants, tobacco leaf, truffly earth, and spicy oak all define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, terrific balance, and outstanding length. Based off 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, buy a case and enjoy bottles over the coming 10-15 years. (JD)

A polished, fruit-driven style, but with nice focus, as singed alder and savory notes provide a gentle nudge along the edges of the plum and cassis core. Ends with a subtle loam echo on the finish. Drink now through 2032. 90,000 cases made.

This is an impressive red that over delivers on its price point, providing a graceful experience of powerful concentration. Black fruit, iron, crushed rock and cedar define its yin-yang of Old World sensibility with New World intensity. Editors’ Choice.
