Whispers of roasted black plum and tobacco leaf introduce this robust and concentrated yet briskly balanced red. Matured 18 months in oak (about 1/3 new), it's a generous, weighty sip studded with notes of violet petal, earth and fur, with a fiery frame of tannins. It needs time to meld, so approach from 2024.

A lush, supple red, evoking black cherry, blackberry, violet, iron and spice flavors. A dense matrix of tannins lends structure, yet this also has a graceful component. Fresh, graphite-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2024 through 2040. 700 cases imported.
Vinous
- v89-90
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a composed bouquet of blackberry and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, fine acidity and a pleasant, slightly tart finish. There is good length here and this should drink well over the next 5–7 years, possibly longer.

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village (Maison Louis Jadot) exhibits notes of sweet raspberries, plums and cherries mingled with loamy soil and espresso roast. Medium-bodied, lively and youthfully chewy, it concludes with a saline finish.
