Features a beam of kirsch, shaded by raspberry, floral, earth and tree bark flavors. Fleshy, intense and driven by vibrant acidity, this picks up a spicy, black pepper note on the long aftertaste. Best from 2023 through 2038. 1,300 cases made, 210 cases imported.

The 2016 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru offers up a deep and appealing bouquet of cherries, licorice and potpourri that's very delicately framed by a touch of new wood. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and quite lavish on the attack, with the firm, tensile profile typical of this site only making itself felt on the mid-palate and finish. Impressively concentrated and complete, it's a compelling effort from Louis Latour, and one that should reward at least a few years of bottle age.

The 2016 Corton-Perrieres Grand Cru has an open Morello cherry and strawberry scented bouquet with orange rind and hints of spicebox. The palate is medium-bodied with furry tannin, a fine bead of acidity but like other Cortons in this flight, it just lacks vigour and complexity towards a rather dullish finish. Drink over the next decade. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
