Description
La Chanfleure is an old word used synonymously with "tate-vin", it is actually the pipette used by the cellarmen to take some wine from the barrel to taste it during the vinification. We chose to link the term "La Chanfleure" to some of our wines in order to assign them an additional recognition element. Chablis is an isolated island of vineyards in the northern section of viticultural Burgundy. Maison Louis Latour's Chablis "La Chanfleure" is the ultimate expression of what the Chardonnay grape is capable of on the region's famous kimmeridgian limestone slopes.
Estate
The Latour family founded the ‘Maison de négoce’, an important shipping company, in 1797, and it is still based at 18 Rue des Tonneliers in Beaune to this day. The company is unique in Burgundy in that it is still family-owned and family-run, having been passed down from father to son for ten generations over 200 years. Maison Louis Latour ships its wines to over 180 countries worldwide. These world-class Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs can be found on the most famous dining tables around the globe.
