Bergström Wines' 2023 Sigrid Chardonnay is a tribute to the winery's Swedish grandmother, Sigrid, whose spirit, grace, and strength have inspired generations. Sourced from the finest barrels of Chardonnay across their estate vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley, this wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged sur lie for 18 months in French oak barrels. The result is a Chardonnay that embodies both opulence and precision, with layered textures, mineral structure, fresh citrus and stone-fruit flavors, and floral aromas. In the glass, the 2023 Sigrid Chardonnay presents a bright straw color with green reflections. The nose offers an inviting bouquet of lemon meringue, flinty minerality, and a touch of toasted coconut, complemented by subtle pastry crust and delicate baking spices. On the palate, it is luxurious and balanced, featuring the smooth creaminess of marzipan, Meyer lemon peel, and the crisp freshness of Dangshan pears. A lingering honeysuckle sweetness contrasts beautifully with a well-defined spine of acidity, leading to a long and focused finish.
