B Vintners Reservoir Road Pinot Noir 2015

The 2015 Reservoir Road Pinot Noir comes from bush vines (unusual for this variety). It has a ferrous nose with good intensity, very well delineated and with a touch of garrigue emerging with time that lends it a subtle Rhône-like bent. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine backbone, dark cherry and raspberry fruit with black pepper and clove, the finish saline that begs you back for another sip (the coastline is less than a couple of miles away, which might explain that trait). Give this a year in bottle and then it should give you 10-12 years of pleasure.

A focused, slightly taut style, with a light singed cinnamon frame guiding the dried cherry and red currant fruit flavors along. A pretty black tea note shows on the lightly smoky finish. Drink now through 2019. 112 cases imported.
