The 2018 Chianti Classico is an absolutely beautiful, joyous wine. Freshly cut flowers, mint, tobacco, orange peel and sweet red berry fruit are laced together. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2018 possesses superb depth and tons of character. Wilder Sangiovese notes develop with time in the glass, but it is the purity of the fruit that stands out. The 2018 is positively stellar. That's all there is to it.

Made with Sangiovese, 5% Colorino and 5% Canaiolo, this has aromas suggesting black-skinned berry, underbrush and cooking spice. The juicy palate offers black cherry, clove and star anise alongside polished tannins. Drink through 2025.

This is smooth and lively, boasting cherry, strawberry and earth aromas and flavors. Leans toward the elegant side, with dusty tannins lining the fresh finish. Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. Drink now through 2025. 1,500 cases made, 750 cases imported.

Light and informal, the Tenuta di Capraia 2018 Chianti Classico Capraia offers lively and energetic primary fruit of wild cherry, cassis and tart plum. This wine is mostly Sangiovese with smaller percentages of Canaiolo and Colorino. The quality and brightness of the fruit is enough to pair with lasagna or an eggplant Parmesan.
