Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2018 possesses superb depth and tons of character. Wilder Sangiovese notes develop with time in the glass, but it is the purity of the fruit that stands out. The 2018 is positively stellar. That's all there is to it.

Made with Sangiovese, 5% Colorino and 5% Canaiolo, this has aromas suggesting black-skinned berry, underbrush and cooking spice. The juicy palate offers black cherry, clove and star anise alongside polished tannins. Drink through 2025.

Light and informal, the Tenuta di Capraia 2018 Chianti Classico Capraia offers lively and energetic primary fruit of wild cherry, cassis and tart plum. This wine is mostly Sangiovese with smaller percentages of Canaiolo and Colorino. The quality and brightness of the fruit is enough to pair with lasagna or an eggplant Parmesan.
