Nestled in famous Napa Valley, our family has been growing winegrapes on our historic St. Helena vineyard since 1932. Originally planted in 1860 by Dr. George Crane, three generations of the Salvestrin Family have meticulously and sustainably farmed this 26 acre vineyard for 81 harvests. Being sensitive to the environment and the surrounding community by following organic guidelines, we consistently create handcrafted wines that are fruit forward, elegant, balanced and memorably world class.

This restrained, mineral-inflected version is sleek and pure, with cassis, bitter plum and black cherry puree notes streaked with alder, savory and iron through the fine-grained and pinpoint finish. A red of precision and focus. Best from 2026 through 2040. 1,026 cases made.

A terrific bargain (in the context of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon), Salvestrin's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, all from the site adjoining the winery. Gentle cedar and cinnamon notes accent ripe cherries and loamy earth, with the merest hint of dried herbs on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied in the mouth, with a silky, softly dusty feel that suggests cocoa powder on the long, elegant finish.

Let this puppy open for about 2-3 hours and it will start singing. Just what you would expect from a bottle 2-3X its price. May be the best value from Dr Crane Vineyard I've tasted. Mocha, mint, cured meats and coffee. Just what the Dr ordered!
