Chimney Rock Tomahawk Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
|Region||California, Napa Valley, Stags Leap District|
Alluring, with blueberry, açaí berry and plum compote flavors, infused with lively anise and apple wood notes along the way. Fleshy, but with a very solid graphite spine imparting length and drive to the finish. Drink now through 2030. 1,220 cases made.
Displaying a deep purple-black color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Tomahawk offers up aromas of black cherries, cassis and plums with hints of earth, cedar and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is very firm, tight, coiled and muscular. This is still very youthful and really needs 3-4 years in bottle to show its stuff.
This is a thick, richly layered red from the producer's site-one of the cooler sides of the vineyard. Lush on the palate, it has tender elements of black currant, smoked meat, black pepper, licorice and lavender, a complex array of elements that shows room for further evolution. Enjoy 2025-2030.
