At the same time, polished tannins give the wine plenty of near and medium-term appeal".

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Brandlin Estate, 77% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, is slightly tart, narrowly constructed for a Mt. Veeder Cabernet, has a dense ruby/purple color, shows promise with further aging, but doesn't seem to be that expressive or interesting. Perhaps I have hit it on a bad day, but so be it. Forget it for a couple years and drink it over the following 10-12.
