2014 was another great year in Napa Valley and we see this quality reflected in our Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose expresses the classic characteristics we love from this site; notes of bay leaf, mint, anise and dark chocolate are complimented by sweet black fruit, fresh red plum, and a touch of warm vanilla from our Limousin Oak aging program. Although 2014 was historically and earlier vintage, the microclimate of Martha's Vineyard allowed the fruit to hang for the right amount of time on the vine to reach perfect phenolic ripeness. The smooth and classic structure is a result of softening over time with 3 full years of aging in new French oak. We are thrilled to share this wine that is a pleasure to drink upon release but will reward those connoisseurs with the patience to lay this bottle down for 10+ years.

Structured and powerful with chewy and firm tannins with a light vanilla and currant undertone. Full bodied. Juicy and savory. Luscious and intense yet polished. Tension, energy and wonderful length and brightness. Drinkable but needs another three to four years to come around.

Martha’s Vineyard is one of the most famous vineyards in the US, and the 2014 vintage from this hallowed site is as good as it gets for Napa Valley Cabernet. At every turn it exudes class, structure and a definitive air. Aromatically it commands you to pay attention; the palate will give you no choice. A thunderous wine in every dimension, giving off its classic mint and eucalyptus notes with perfectly harnessed power. The finish is a showstopper in its length and persistence. Tasted across five days, it was constantly on the ascent for the first two and a half, and perfectly enjoyable on the fourth. A true work of art

Enticing, with the frankly ripe profile of the vintage showing off in a display of slightly exotic plum and blackberry coulis flavors, while dark licorice, menthol and sassafras notes course through. Sweet spice accents sparkle through the finish, revealing a lingering hint of singed juniper. The long finish features rippling acidity. Best from 2022 through 2038. 2,300 cases made.
