- There’s beautiful sangiovese character in the nose here with dried flowers, cherries and violets. Subtle and enticing. Similar flavors with a medium body, integrated tannins and a fresh and bright finish. Very harmonious for this year. Better in 2021, but already very pretty.

Vinous 92 points - Bright red. The pristine nose offers hints of violet, pomegranate, red cherry and minerals. Then juicy fresh and dense, with lovely clarity and cut to the taut, bright perfumed flavors similar to the aromas. Finishes long with noteworthy mineral presence. (Mar 2019)

San Filippo's 2014 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits a graceful and more fragile side of this storied Italian red wine. Brunello is known for its deep inner intensity and complexity; however, this vintage made simple and less powerful expressions instead. Dark fruit and spice are followed by a distinctly mineral note of crushed flint and campfire ash. This Brunello sees a brief 26 months in oak. Some 8,000 bottles were made.
