Lively bright red. Lovely aromas and flavors of red cherry and sweet spices, plus pretty violet lift. Juicy and focused in the mouth, with a fresh mouthfeel and smooth tannins. Closes long and bright. Not very complex, but easy to drink and very enjoyable.

The Castello Banfi 2018 Rosso di Montalcino is a stripped-down and easy-drinking red that would pair with a chicken and cheese quesadilla topped with extra sour cream and guacamole. The wine has the fresh acidity to cut through the fat in those foods without overpowering the fragrant spices and cilantro. This Rosso ages in both botte and barrique for one year.
