A very deep, brilliant black color. Discreet at first on the nose before an explosion of black fruit aromas as the glass is swirled. A superb assortment of very ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and sun-drenched bigarreau cherries intermixed with chocolate and mocha notes. Great complexity and lots of finesse. The entry to the palate is fresh and sweet. All the wine's power and structure is counter-balanced by its round, fleshy texture and its lively, elegant flavours. Underneath a velvet wrapping the fullness of the wine comes through immediately together with fine-grained, tight-knit tannins, that are characteristic of the 2010 vintage. Black fruit flavours and spices come to the fore, followed by an incredibly long finish. The 2010 Château Lascombes is a perfect example of a wine that combines complexity and power with elegance.

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Lascombes gives up notes of dried herbs, tilled soil and black olives over a blackcurrant cordial and plums preserves core plus a touch of crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers chewy tannins and bold freshness to support the savory flavors, finishing with an herbal lift.

Wood-driven tannins dominate at this stage, creating a wine that is structured and dense. The tannins are layered with the weight of the black currant and plum fruits. Lascombes is still finding its style, but is definitely on the upward slope.

Bright ruby-red. Superripe but fresh aromas of cassis, plum and chocolate. Broad, sweet, rich and generous, offering considerable early appeal to its dark berry and chocolate flavors. Pliant and utterly seductive today, finishing with lush, sweet tannins. This is delicious today in a rather full-blown way, and should offer pleasure for at least the next 15 years.

Dark and nicely toasty, with ample espresso and ganache up front, followed by steeped fig, blackberry and black currant fruit that rumbles through the finish. Features ample tarry grip, but eschews minerality and finesse for a direct and toast-driven approach. Best from 2014 through 2026.
