Chateau Latour Pauillac 1998
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Pauillac|
Red-ruby. Deep aromas of cassis, licorice and lead pencil. Deeper than Les Forts but currently rather mute in the middle. Strongly minerally. Offers classic Latour structure and spine. Finishes with sneaky, subtle persistence. ST
Plenty of currant, raspberry and mineral aromas, with hints of leaf and wet earth. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a tar, berry and cherry aftertaste. Slightly rustic for Latour. Not as exciting as I remember from barrel. Best after 2008. 19,165 cases made.
