The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is laced with dark-toned fruit, grilled herbs, menthol, spice, leather, and tobacco. The 2022 is quite savory and on the delicate side, qualities that often take a few years in bottle to show themselves. Here, too, the wine's balance is impeccable.

Bottled after 19 months in two-thirds new French oak, Plumpjack's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate certainly isn't shy on the wood-derived notes, adding vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon scents to a base of cassis fruit. In the mouth, this full-bodied effort is supple and chocolaty, with mocha and caramel notes joining fine-grained tannins on the finish.

Theres a slightly candied edge to the mix of boysenberry and black cherry fruit, while modest notes of licorice and vanilla bean linger on the finish. Drink now through 2027. 6,527 cases made.
