The Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine is composed of the finest lots from the vineyard. Winemaker Benoit Touquette has a lot to choose from, as the site, with its multiple blocks, elevations, facings and diverse soils, has character in spades. Moonracer bears the unmistakable mark of this stimulating vineyard, as well as the Stags Leap District. Strong, powerful, yet elegant, with refined tannins and plenty of depth. What Benoit calls "intellectual." "It's a wine that will appeal to both international and American palates. It walks the line, combining characteristics typical of northern and southern Napa Valley. It's got plenty of fruit but also layered flavors, depth and complexity."

Jeb DunnuckThe third vintage from this estate vineyard in Stag’s Leap, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Moonracer is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot (which is close to the breakdown of the vineyard). It offers a beautiful bouquet of crème de cassis, spring flowers, graphite, and crushed rocks. While it doesn’t have the density of the To Kolan and Dr. Crane releases, it is seamless, full-bodied, incredibly complex, and multi-dimensional. Already impossible to resist, drink this pure, elegant beauty any time over the coming 20-25 years.

Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Estate-Moonracer comes exclusively from Realm’s Stags Leap estate and was completely farmed by them. A traditional Bordeaux blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, it's very deep purple-black colored and features earthy/savory notes of underbrush, smoked meats, tapenade and Marmite toast with a core of warm plums, Black Forest cake and blueberry preserves plus a touch of garrigue. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and very finely grained with wonderful freshness and depth, finishing long and mineral laced.
