Chalk Hill Russian River Pinot Noir 2013
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley|
Wine EnthusiastThis sultry wine is sourced from the producer's Trenton Road vineyard, cooler than where the winery itself sits in Chalk Hill. Planted to six clones, it provides this bottling with a taste of blueberry and raspberry integrated around soft, juicy tannins and a brightness of acidity.
Wine AdvocateHis 2013 Pinot Noir is a beauty, showing a dark ruby/plum color, sweet black cherry fruit, nice floral underpinnings and an attractive round, juicy finish. This is Pinot Noir with character, density and ripeness. While approachable now, it should evolve gracefully for another 5-10 years.
