Casanova di Neri Pietradonice 2000
Deep, dark color. Classy aromas of blackberries, minerals and spices. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a long, long finish. So refined. A fabulous debut wine from one of Brunello greatest producers. Best after 2005. 665 cases made.
The 2000 Pietradonice, a Merlot/Sangiovese blend, possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to sweet aromas of espresso, pain grille, mocha, black cherry, and currants. Pure, ripe, medium to full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, it will be at its best between 2004-2015.
