San Filippo Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucére 2004
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
Wine SpectatorDisplays ripe berry and orange peel character, with hints of other citrus fruits. Full-bodied, with soft tannins and a beautiful underlying acidity. Long, flavorful and dense in structure. Best wine ever from this producer. Best after 2011.
Wine AdvocateThe 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere is an intense, full-bodied wine packed with ripe, dark fruit. There is plenty of stuffing and depth, but slight elements of greenness detract from what would otherwise be a very fine Brunello. Le Lucere is made from the property's oldest Sangiovese plants and aged in a combination of cask and smaller French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019.
