|Region||California, Central Coast, Paso Robles|
Fulldraw is new to the line-up with fruit sourced from the vineyard immediately adjoining Booker. The soils are pure white calcareous shale, and getting a crop is almost impossible. Thus making it both a widely unique site as well as borderline unsustainable due to the miniscule yields. As with most young vines in a site that has no vigor, the fruit you get it fresh and exciting but it is key to refrain from getting carried away and making a wine that is over the top in ripeness.
Ornellaia Ornellaia 2013What appeared to be a disadvantage for the 2013 vintage - late budding and flowering - proved to be a major advantage thanks to a warm summer and month of September offering textbook conditions for harvesting, with cool temperatures but a prevalence of sunny weather. This resulted in slow but complete ripening with great balance and a delightful aromatic quality, which we like to define as "Elegance". Ornellaia 2013, with its dense, vibrant colour, has a nose of splendid aromatic complexity built around a limpid and brilliant fruitiness, underscored by refined spicy and balsamic notes. The mouth develops vibrant and complex fruity nuances framed by a dense, slender structure with tannins that attain a rare harmony between firmness and fleshiness, concluding with a long balanced and fresh finish.

Realm The Tempest 2016The Tempest - a famous play, a violent storm, and the name of our Merlot-based blend, fashioned after the great wines of Pomerol in Bordeaux. The Tempest was the first proprietary wine Realm released, so named for the "perfect" storm of three grape varietals that became available at the same time, from the same vineyard, in 2002 -- the year of our tumultuous beginning. Though our equipment was borrowed and the winery we occupied unfinished, our grapes were sound that year - beautiful in fact - and the resulting wine reflected a fierce determination to brave the storm. The Tempest is still made with beautiful grapes, from vineyards such as Beckstoffer Orchard and Dr. Crane, as well as Blair Vineyard in Calistoga. Predominantly Merlot, with lesser amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot depending on vintage, The Tempest is a roiling cauldron of lush, bright, red fruit - a wine that shows what Merlot can be in the right hands, from the right vineyards.
Realm The Falstaff 2016Our Cabernet Franc-dominated proprietary blend takes its name from one of Shakespeare's most vividly-drawn comedic characters, a knight of formidable appetite, a Joker with spirit and wit.

Powell & Son Barossa&Eden Valleys 2016The Loechel shows generous dark ripe fruits of blackberry, cherry liqueur and cassis which is supported by dark chocolate and mocha tones and subtle herbs and spice. The palate reveals pronounced dark fruits, underscored by smoky, savoury and meaty notes: olives and charcuterie with subtle reductive funk. The palate is medium to full-bodied, yet maintains a mouth-staining inkiness to provide a long and satisfying finish with a persistent orange-rind like acid backbone.

Luce Della Vite Brunello di Montalcino 2015Food Pairing: Chicken Parm, Roast meats, game pasta served with truffles, and mature cheeses. Tuscany, Italy ESTATE Today, Tenuta Luce goes so much further than was originally envisioned when started as a project over 20 years ago. The estate now has some of the most exceptional vineyards in Montalcino and, as of 2018, a state of the art winery to nurture every step of the winemaking process. The original vision, however, remains the same: to produce bold and ambitious Tuscan wines that reflect the culture of Montalcino. WINE Tenuta Luce’s Brunello is the winery’s tribute to Montalcino and the wine that emerged there in the second half of the 19th century to become one of Italy’s crown jewels of wine production. It is produced in very small quantities to showcase the unique character of pure Sangiovese from the Tenuta Luce estate vineyards and pay tribute to the winemaking tradition of Montalcino. VINEYARD The estate consists of 615 acres of land, 217 of which are planted to vine. Sangiovese is planted in the higher elevation parcels (up to 1500 feet), which are rich in sandstone and limestone. WINEMAKING Fermentation: 12 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, additional 4 weeks of skin maceration Aging: Slavonian oak barriques, 90% used once 10% new for at least 24 months VINTAGE Following a rainy winter that helped maintain the water reserves accumulated during the previous season, the budding phase began at the beginning of April. The plants developed steadily, thanks to a sunny and dry season which helped maintain the plants in good health throughout the entire growing phase. The hot, long summer was mitigated by two intense August rainfalls, which provided ideal conditions for the uniform, intense and stress-free ripening of the grapes.
Quintessa QUINTESSA 2016The 2016 Quintessa is a generous wine, with complex and elegant layers than envelop you from the first sip. Welcoming with aromas of cassis, blackberry, red currant and undertones of sage, thyme, crushed rocks and rose petals, the 2016 Quintessa continues to expand in the glass as notes of exotic citrus, clove and fresh tobacco mingle with bright fruit. Full and rich, the wine is held together with fine-grained tannins that interweave beautifully with flavors of dark chocolate, crushed rocks, black cherry and blueberries. The wine is distinct for its energy and depth of flavor, and will leave a lasting impression with its velvety texture and intoxicating perfume.

Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs 2016This 2016 Blanc de Blancs has bright aromas of ripe green apple, Bosc pear, sweet spice and buttered brioche, which intermingle with hints of fresh ginger, stone fruit and coriander. Honeycrisp apple, grilled lemon, and orange peel bring fruitful notes to the mid-palate, ending with a clean crisp acidity that's punctuated with caramelized and tropical flavors. While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda or other hard cheeses, and as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.
Faust Cabernet Sauvignon 2017The 2017 Faust Cabernet is a blend of our estate vineyards in Coombsville and Rutherford and mountain sourcing in Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder and Howell Mountain. Intense yet fresh with juicy blue and black notes. Notes of dark chocolate and dried herbs seduce the palate while silky tannins and lifting acidity leads to a layered and lingering finish.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2017The 2017 Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon offers inviting aromas of ripe raspberry, boysenberry and dark cherry along with hints of cedar and spice. The mid-palate is pleasant and round with flavors of plum, dark chocolate, dried fruit and a touch of toasted oak. The finish is rich and lingering. Enjoy this Cabernet Sauvignon with grilled tri-tip, braised short ribs or pasta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto.
Chateau-Margaux Margaux 1988 6LThe very deep colour, the rich, intense nose and the magnificent structure on the palate are very reminiscent of the 1986. They have the same powerful, ripe tannins, with perhaps a little less concentration, but also less austerity. Unlike 1986, in fact, 1988 is starting to open out; we can therefore drink it, knowing full well that it will continue to improve for several years -seven or eight at least.
Bogle Merlot 2017Gorgeous in the glass with rich hues of garnet, the first impressions entice with aromas of sandalwood, vanilla and black cherry. The mouthwatering entry is full of red plums and cherries, while the middle palate of the wine softens with touches of cola and a smooth and silky mouthfeel. Notes of baking spices and mocha are left behind by the 12 months in American oak, leading to a lingering, luxe finish. Pairs well with margherita pizza, aged white cheddar, cheeseburger.
If You See Kay Red 2016The wine is dark purple to the rim.Massive ripe black fruit and rich spice aromas that hit you right away. Dense blackberry and mocha flavors dominate the palate, the mouth-filling texture is powerful, yet elegant and creamy all the way through. The finish goes on forever, with hints of smoke and grilled meat lingering at the end. Kay is versatile with all kinds of foods, but pairs best with big, bold flavors.
Justin Cabernet Sauvignon 2017Dark purple-ruby core with lighter rim and moderately stained, pronounced tears forming on the glass. Aromatic with ripe black and red cherry, blackcurrant and berry fruit, baking spice and sweet tobacco with red and black licorice, oak, cocoa and subtle camphor notes. Dry, nearly full bodied, with ripe black cherry, cassis and red fruit, baking spice and oak accents on entry with sustained ripe primary and mostly black fruit, dried autumn leaf, cocoa and a pleasant suggestion of camphor on the mid-palate into the finish. The finish is fresh and moderately long, showing lingering cherry and berry notes with oak and barrel spice nicely supported by fine, balanced tannins. The 2017 Justin Cabernet Sauvignon is an extremely versatile food pairing wine that makes it a great go-to red for many pairings ranging from a picnic of artisanal cheese and charcuterie, a Philly cheese steak sandwich, to a classic Entrecôte (steak) Bordelaise with pommes frites. It's a perfect wine to bring to a dinner or party for wine lovers.
Layer Cake Shiraz 2018For our Shiraz, we pull from vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley- from the sandy-soiled blocks on the sea coast of Gulf St. Vincent to the Terra Rosa- based, tiny-berried, wind-blown rolling hills in the Barossa Zone. The microclimates give us a broad array of flavors to blend into a complex, rich, full wine.
Cherry Pie Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir 2015Dense ruby in color, the 2015 Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir shows aromas of crushed black cherry, cloves and vanilla with cola undertones. The palate is full-bodied showing bright, bold juicy red cherry and raspberry jam fruit. On the midpalate are nuanced flavors of cranberries, cocoa powder and vanilla that carry through to a long finish.
Roederer Estate BrutRoederer Estate Brut is crisp and elegant with complex pear, spice and hazelnut flavors. It is fresh and lightly fruity with great finesse and depth of flavor.
Saxum Paderewski Vineyard 2010 1.5LOur second Paderewski bottling is firing on all cylinders. I backed off on the Syrah and used a lot more Mourvedre, and added a new component, Tempranillo. Yes I know, we are crazy! It's a Zinfandel / Mourvedre / Tempranillo / Syrah / Petite Sirah blend, and it shows its terrior beautifully. What you get from this wine is a taste of the Paderewski Vineyard. It is dark, brooding and muscular, while at the same time jam packed with tons of sweet fruits. There's even a spicy tannic side lurking in there, underneath those fruit flavors. Thanks to the cool, long growing season, it has a wonderful freshness and purity to it combined with great underlying tannins.
Argiano Non Confunditur 2017Ruby red color. It reveals an exciting potency, with the innate gentles of Merlot creating a bridge between the evident earthiness of Sangiovese, the aromatic blackcurrant flavors of Cabernet and the warm red berries of Syrah. NC is a wine with a decisive, full-bodied character, smooth tannins and a persistent finish. A generous, rounded red wine, destined for short to medium ageing. Ideal with lots of typical Tuscan courses: bruschetta, crostini with liver, medium seasoned cheese, pasta with meat sauce, grilled vegetables.
Saxum Booker Vineyard 2010 1.5LOwned by Eric and Lisa Jensen, the Booker Vineyard is extremely steep and rocky with a mix of calcareous and silicious soils. We lease 2 acres of East facing Syrah that produce extremely concentrated fruit with great acidity, 1 acre of a North West face that we ferment whole cluster to produce a black tannic wine with great texture, and 1 acre of Mourvedre on a South slope that gives wonderful intensity and structure. The resulting blend is very concentrated, with great texture and tons of fruit and spice. We age it for 20-26 months mainly in new 350 Liter French hogshead barrels with extra thick staves. Our wines are never racked off their lees and are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
A to Z Wineworks Pinot Noir 2017The garnet red, 2017 A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir showcases what A to Z does best. A vibrant, complex nose opens with floral, stone fruit and berry aromas - rose petal, violet, pomegranate, plum cherry, raspberry, black currant, boysenberry - that deepen with spice and wood notes - cinnamon, white pepper, thyme, vanilla, cedar, sandalwood, chocolate. Gentle oak aging adds definition supporting a delicious, harmonious balance between tannin, acid and fruit. The 2017 A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir is a prime example of the benefits of working with fruit grown in all of the remarkable valleys of Western Oregon. A pretty, versatile wine that will pair neatly with most proteins cooked in a wide variety of styles, as well as earthy, and rustic vegetables, and bright-red to black fruits like cherry, cranberry, or plum.
Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2016Bright garnet. An immediate ascent of scent - no need to wait or to vigorously swirl this wine to tease out 'what lies beneath'! Dark berry fruits consistent to both varietal persuasions, (cabernet and shiraz), overtly courted by elements of ponzu, soy, sesame and dried shiitake mushroom. Senses are easily conveyed to a forest after rain - wet bracken, liberated mulch, damp soils. Naturally (new and used) oak plays a (minor) role in this fanciful aromatic romp. Flavours and textures akin to marbled Kobe beef and an earthy accompaniment of black liquorice root and anise. Structurally bold with little protruding - integrated, fine ... and has comfortably already "settled into place". 'Appetising' acidity - a non-intrusive and refreshing granita-like bite/attaque. Assam tea maltiness and tannins merge with impressions of wet slate, pencil lead/graphite ... no doubt somehow linked to earlier partial barrel fermentation and oak maturation. Needs time, as per most Bin 389's at release. Perhaps a little longer for this vintage? Our recommendation - your choice.

Falletto di Bruno Giacosa Barolo 2007Garnet red colour with orange reflections. Ample and complex bouquet with notes recalling truffle and liquorice. In the mouth it feels dry, full and velvety, unfolding a great personality.
Two Hands Ares Shiraz 2009Deep red and black with magenta rim. The nose is bright and intense, volumes of rich berries, plums and maraschino cherries. The aromas are continually evolving, also bringing cedary spice, subtle lavender, bitter chocolate, tar and fudge. The palate is currently very tight and restrained. 2009 brought wines of great flavor with elements of finesse and the 09 Ares is no exception. Juicy plums and blueberries dominate early to mid-palate, then underlying cedary chocolate notes emerge carrying the wine through to the late palate, tightening up again to a focused core of fruit, spice and tannin.
Torbreck The Laird 2006 1.5LEvery now and then, in life and in wine, we are presented with unique opportunities to express ourselves and create something truly remarkable. When these rare opportunities arise, we need to capture, nurture and develop them so that their potential is fulfilled.
