Cascina Luisin Barbaresco Rabaja 2011
Wine SpectatorExpressive and structured, displaying black cherry, black currant, violet, tobacco and mineral aromas and flavors. Intense, with abundant yet ripe tannins, showing enough sweet fruit for balance. Fine length. Best from 2017 through 2032. 150 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2011 Barbaresco Rabaja is a bigger wine (compared to the 2011 Barbaresco Paolin) that makes a bolder statement in this more difficult vintage. The fruit shows a ripe and round quality with lingering varietal tones of dried herb and licorice. The wine is tonic and balanced overall with a fine and enduring finish. Drink: 2016-2024.
Wine EnthusiastThis leads off with aromas of mature black fruit, toasted oak, coffee bean and a whiff of balsamic herbs. The ripe palate delivers fleshy red cherry and black raspberry with layers of cocoa, espresso and sage alongside bracing tannins.
